Have you ever been bored of being bored because being bored is so boring?

Well, I have been. I often feel that I have literally nothing to do. And as they say, doing nothing is sometimes the hardest thing to do. But they also say that necessity is the mother of all inventions. And my necessity to prevent myself from being bored to death pushes me to discover (not invent though) some really worthwhile things I can do, not just to kill time but to feel better about myself.

Here are a few things that you can try when you feel bored the next time:

  1. Read a book

I always have a huge pile of unread books lying in some corner of my room. So the best thing to do when I feel bored is to pick one of them up and loose myself in the dreamy world of fiction.

  1. Start a blog

Have you have always wanted to start your own blog but never found enough time to devote? Now is the perfect time to do that. Creating a blog includes much planning — what should be the domain name, what should be the theme of your blog, which design/template will look the best, and what all content you want to put into it. Doing all this will easily keep you occupied for long.

  1. Explore your city

There is always someplace or the other which you have not seen in your city no matter how many years you have spent living there. Push yourself a bit (from that comfortable bed) and go and explore your city. You can visit monuments, museums, water and amusement parks, by lanes of the older area of the city and what not!

  1. Pamper yourself

With all the stuff we have to do — college work, socialise, household chores — we often forget to look after ourselves. Sometimes you need to unwind yourself. Switch off your phone and have a complete day of solitude. Or, go to a parlour and get a massage, manicure and pedicure. Get your blood test done and see how healthy/unhealthy you have been eating.

  1. Keep up with your passion

I love photography but I never find time to join a photography course. Something similar happened when I started to learn guitar. I had to give up the classes because of my studies. But hey! We live in a technologically-driven world. You need not go anywhere to learn things. Just open YouTube and you will find numerous tutorials guiding you.
